Why Did You Become A Dentist?
Everything Dr. Boehmer has done in her life has made her a better dentist today, from playing the piano and violin to dancing professional ballet for years. The hand-eye coordination she developed through these artistic skills has helped her improve health and elevate smiles with unparalleled clarity. When the local orthodontist in her town passed away, it was the final push she needed to pursue oral healthcare as a career – and she hasn’t looked back yet.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After earning her Bachelor’s at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Boehmer completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry. Since then, she has obtained more than 1,000 hours of continuing education in advanced dental techniques. Postgraduate education is a top priority for Dr. Boehmer, as it helps her expand her mind further and keep her skills sharp regarding the oral healthcare field as a whole. She has undergone advanced training in orthodontics from the Clinical Foundation of Orthopedics and Orthodontics, as well as neuromuscular courses from the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Education. This commitment to lifelong education allows her to provide patients with outstanding clinical results in a minimally invasive and highly comfortable manner.
A Different Kind of Dentistry
As a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Boehmer has achieved a rare and admirable distinction amongst her peers. To earn this accolade, a general dentist must complete over 500 hours of continuing education in various advanced disciplines, as well as pass a rigorous examination. Only 7% of dentists in the world have successfully obtained Fellowship status. Additionally, Dr. Boehmer is a proud member of the SPEAR Faculty Club, where dentists who are committed to continued learning and professional growth pursue further training in oral healthcare’s most modern techniques and technologies. These commitments help her ensure the highest level of dental care in her practice, both today and tomorrow.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Boehmer and her husband Steve have two beautiful cats named Winter and Bear at home. She enjoys taking a holistic approach to her personal life, practicing “healthy body, healthy mind.” In her spare time, her hobbies include biking, scuba, traveling, wine-tasting, skiing, cooking, and restoring vintage cars. She is also heavily involved with the Humane Association.
