How can I safely whiten my teeth?
Each person is different. In order to prescribe a particular method, we would have to examine your mouth. If your teeth are cracked or chipped, we may recommend some of our restorative services as an alternative, such as veneers or bonding.
We may also recommend the ZOOM!® In-Office System. This effective process takes about two hours and is long-lasting when you practice good oral hygiene. We also offer the ZOOM!® Teeth Whitening Take-Home System so you can maintain your brighter smile from the comfort of home. If you are interested in whiter teeth, ask us which services or system would work best for you.
What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety?
As your dental professionals, we care about both your health and safety. Our practice follows a variety of precautions to ensure your wellbeing while you are in our office. First, we keep up-to-date on the latest sterilization procedures and research. We are sticklers about OSHA standards for safety and always surpass our compliance requirements. Most importantly, we have a sterilization center!
My gums bleed after I brush. Is this something to be concerned about?
When your gums bleed, it means that something is irritating the tissue. The irritation can be caused by a variety of factors, from gingivitis to a deteriorating filling. Nonetheless, bleeding gums should not be ignored. In fact, they may be a sign of gum disease.
We recommend that you call us at (505) 349-0266 to schedule an appointment if you are experiencing this symptom on a routine basis. Dr. Boehmer and our staff can diagnose the cause of your bleeding gums and help you correct the problem.
Crowns, veneers, onlays, inlays and bridges – where can I learn more about these procedures?
Often, we recommend crowns, veneers, onlays, inlays, and bridges as part of a permanent restoration treatment. They last longer, look better, and are easier to wear in your mouth. When we recommend a particular procedure, service, or treatment, we believe that you will feel more comfortable when you know more about what we are prescribing. We have dedicated service pages for each of these treatment options.
Whenever you have questions, we also encourage you to ask us. As professionals in the dental field, we keep up on the latest research and findings.
I want my front teeth to look better, but I do not want to wear braces. What would you recommend?
There are a variety of ways to improve the appearance of your teeth without braces. We offer many cosmetic services, including teeth whitening, veneers and Invisalign Clear Braces. If you would like to enhance the appearance of your smile, call us so we can schedule an appointment for you. After listening to your goals and concerns, Dr. Boehmer can suggest ways to help you maximize your smile.
What is Smile Analysis?
During a smile analysis, Dr. Boehmer looks at all the factors that compose your smile, including the shape of your smile, the size, the smile line, and the position of your teeth, lips, and gums when you smile. She listens to your goals and any concerns you may have. Once she gathers this information, she can provide a custom smile design using a digital camera.
What is Smile Design?
Once a smile analysis has been completed, Dr. Boehmer will use digital imaging software to generate an image of your new smile, review the smile design results with you, and discuss the next steps to make it happen.
